CLAIMS – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

REGISTRATION OPEN (Members Only)

Contractors frequently encounter situations on highway projects where they believe that they are entitled to additional compensation. However, successful recovery depends on compliance with a number of typical contract provisions, and failing to meet these requirements can doom a claim regardless of merit. In addition, even a valid and properly preserved claim can fail if the contractor has not documented its costs properly.

Topics to be covered include recognition of claim situations, giving proper notice, compliance with scheduling and other specifications, how to avoid releasing claims through the change order process, and how to best document and calculate cost claims for various situations.
